A 12-day program taking place in the north of the island designed for travellers who love some autonomy without giving up discovering the most fascinating places, some optional excursions have been included in the suggestion and car rental to discover Nosy Be with freedom and safety.

DETAILED PROGRAM
Nosy Be – Ankify
Arrival at the airport, meeting with our assistant, and transfer to the Port of Nosy Be (20 min.) Then you will transfer by boat to Antoremba Lodge. Check in to the room, followed by dinner, and overnight stay.

Ankify
After a hearty breakfast, we leave for Nosy Tanikely, by boat (25 min.). Underwater National Park from March 15, 2010. It boasts one of the most spectacular tropical reefs with a multitude of colorful fish, starfish, turtles, which are all visible while snorkeling. Tanikely is the ideal place for diving or snorkeling enthusiasts who can admire groupers, large pelagic fish, black coral, and large shells. The planned excursion is half-day with a picnic on the island or return to the hotel to be confirmed on site. No supplement will be applied for lunch on the island, but it will be necessary to confirm on-site.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Ankify / Nosy Komba
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure at 07.30 for Nosy Komba. (15 min. By fast boat). Arrive on the beach, visit the village, then to the lemur park and departure for the “an Bongo” trek (3 km, about 3 hours in all round trip to 600 meters in altitude).
The island of Komba is the highest of the islands of the Nosy Be archipelago (622 meters), there is no electricity, no roads, no cars, just some spectacular trails that cross the whole island. The volcanic island resembles the carapace of a turtle and is completely covered by a rich and dense tropical forest. The path we propose crosses the lemur park, early in the morning (to avoid the crowds of tourists who stay in Nosy Be and visit it regularly). It then continues towards the summit of the island through the forest, the plantations of cocoa, ylang-ylang, bananas, mangoes, vanilla, pepper, and various spices. You will also see small authentic villages filled with local farmers.
You will then eat an organic lunch, at Akiba – an eco-friendly refuge. Where all the products are grown or reared on site. You will also taste authentic “Romasava” – a typical local dish based on (poultry or zebu), with rice and fresh fruit.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
The cost of this excursion including guide, lunch including appetizer, main course, and dessert excluding drinks is € 46 p.pax (fee excluded from the total price) to be confirmed on site.
ANTOREMBA LODGE ANKIFY HB + L
Ankify – Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana)
Breakfast and transfer to Ankify at 07.30 in the morning, departure towards the North, through ever-changing landscapes, plantations, expanses of traveler’s palms, and villages. 250 km of paved road (which is rough in some places), about 6 hours by car. Visit to the East Ankarana National Park. Followed by a visit to the Mahamasina park, located about halfway between Ankify and Diego Suarez with a certified MADAGASCAR NATIONAL PARK guide. The Park is characterized by dry tropical forest and rugged paths. The route varies, depending on the time available and physical conditions, from 2.5 to 4 hours of walking.
Different possible circuits, in agreement with the guide, are offered, including the Perte de Riviere, the Tsingy Tower, the Tsingy Rary, the Suspension Bridge, and the “Bat Cave”.
Lunch is offered at the small “Chez Aurelien” restaurant, a typical Malagasy structure located at the entrance to the Ankarana Park.
Transfer to the hotel in Diego Suarez.
NB: the visit to the suspension bridge and the cave of the bats are only possible for the circuits that include an overnight stay in Ankarana, and are not possible with circuits that depart for transfer from Diego Suarez to Ankify and vice versa.

Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana).
The Emerald Sea.
1-hour drive to the village of Ramena followed by a 1-hour journey on a traditional boat.
Meeting time with the guide at the hotel according to the tides.
Departure from Diego by car to the village of Ramena and continuation by boat (of a typical Malagasy style) with sail and motor to the Emerald Sea, located to the north, just off from the bay of Diego. Lunch will be offered on the virgin island that rises among the magnificent waters of the Emerald Sea. Followed by a day of relaxation on a pristine white beach.
Our return to Diego Suarez will be scheduled according to the tides, before sunset.

Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana)
Visit the Tsingy Rouge Canyon
Departure to reach the site through vibrant Malagasy countryside.
You will visit a fascinating site of natural geological formation, created by the combination of combustion, erosion, and infiltration: the Tsingy Rouge – consisting of sandstone, marble, and limestone. Combined in all their beauty in ephemeral spiers, in the center of the only sedimentary basin of Madagascar.
Lunch is offered at a small local restaurant, on the plateau next to the site.

Visit Ramena and the Bay of Diego Suarez in a 4×4.
Departure along the road to Ramena that runs along the great bay of Diego, through the village of Ankonrikakeli, to Sakalava Bay, which we will reach in less than 1 hour, seeing white dunes and centuries-old Baobab.
We will continue along the Bay of Pigeons and the Bay of the Dunes, where we can enjoy an enchanting view of the Indian Ocean: islets, Cap Min., The small Pass, and the Emerald Sea.
There is the possibility to dive in the magnificent crystal clear waters of the bays, sheltered from the ocean by coral reefs and surrounded by white beaches.
We will continue with a visit to military ruins, the lighthouse, the village of Orangea, which is also overlooking a pristine white beach. In the afternoon we will walk to Ramena, a characteristic fishing village, which we will see the construction of their typical canoes, the repair of fishing nets on the shores of the beautiful beach which is 3 km long.
Lunch is offered at the restaurant of Ramena, a traditional fishing village. With fish specialties to enjoy, surrounded by the rich tropical garden.
We will return to Diego Suarez in the afternoon and along the way, we will find Sugar Loaf and the vast expanses of mangroves.

Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana).
Visit to the Montagne d’Ambre National Park.
Visit the park, located near Joffreville (1 hour from Diego Suarez) with a certified guide of MADAGASCAR NATIONAL PARK for a trail that will take about 2.5 hours of walking. Evergreen forest with humid tropical microclimate, forest paths, waterfalls.
The park is home to 7 lemur species and a variety of endemic terrestrial species that can be observed in their natural environment.
Lunch is offered in a local restaurant in Joffre Ville.
We will stop in the afternoon at a monastery of Benedictine nuns from which we will enjoy a wonderful panorama immersed in an atmosphere of absolute relaxation.
Here we will be able to visit their well-kept garden of officinal and medicinal plants, from which essential oils and healing balms are obtained, according to local tradition.

Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana) – Ankify – Nosy Be.
Depart Diego Suarez early in the morning heading south through ever-changing landscapes, rice fields, palm forests, plantations, and villages until reaching Ankify. 250 km of paved road (sometimes rough), about 6 hours by car.
Lunch is offered in a typical restaurant. Arrive at the port of Ankify, transfer by fast boat to the port of Nosy Be. Meeting with our assistant.
